Terry Davis

"An idiot admires complexity, a genius admires simplicity." --Terry Davis

Terry A. Davis, also known as the divine intellect, King Terry the Terrible, the master and smartest programmer that ever lived, born 1969 (lol 69) in Wisconsin, was a genius+schizophrenic programmer that singlehandedly created TempleOS ("From the Lord to your motherboard!"") in his own programming language called HolyC, and greatly entertained and enlightened an audience of followers until his tragic untimely death. For his programming skills and quality videos he became a legend and a meme in the tech circles, especially on 4chan which additionally valued his autistic and politically incorrect behavior.

Terry had brown eyes, brown hair, was quite slim and 180 cm tall (according to a "wanted poster").

He was convinced he could talk to God and that God commanded him to make an operating system with certain parameters such as 640x480 resolution, also known as the God's resolution. Terry self proclaimed he's been gifted divine intellect and was, in his own words, the "best programmer that ever lived". Terry was making YouTube talking/programming videos in which God was an often discussed topic, alongside valuable programming advice and a bit of good old racism. He was also convinced that the government was after him and often delved into the conspiracies against him, famously proclaiming that "CIA niggers glow in the dark" ("glowing in dark" subsequently caught on as a phrase used for anything suspicious). He visited mental hospital several times and later became homeless, but continued to post videos from his van. An entertaining fact is also that he fell in love with a famous female physics YouTuber Dianna Cowern which he stalked online. In 2018 he was killed by a train (officially a "suicide", but can you trust the CIA?) but he left behind tons of videos full of endless entertainment, and sometimes even genuine wisdom.

Terry, just like us, particularly valued simplicity and fun in programming, he was a low-level programmer and saw that technology went to shit. He wanted to incite creation of something in the oldschool style and expressed his will to dedicate his creation to the public domain. This is of course extremely based and appreciated by us (though the actual public domain dedication wasn't executed according to our recommendations).

A more detailed bio: Terrence Andrew Davis was born in a shithole named West Allis in Wisconsin, USA, on December 15 1969, as one of a shitton of children. Allegedly he showed brightness and excelled at school from a young age, he toyed around with Apple machines and later on taught himself Commodore 64 assembly programming. According to his own site, he scored 1440 ON SATs, hinting at approximately 140 IQ. Later on he went to study on Arizona State University (presumably on merit scholarship) where he earned master's degree in electrical engineering in 1994, a year when he also made a small toy "operating system" called TPMOS -- some of this code would find its way into TempleOS several years later. Meanwhile he also worked at a company called Ticketmaster (helping make an operating system for VAX computers) from 1990 to 1996 when he started to struggle with schizophrenia and ended up in mental hospital several times. That's when he went a little wild, started to run away from imaginary agents and aliens, found himself running through the desert somewhere in the middle of Texas, he switched from atheism to Jesus worship and was constantly on the move. He also unsuccessfully attempted to start his own business (called Home Automation and Robotic Equipment) and donated a lot of money to charities, whilst mostly living with his parents on his state welfare money. From 1997 to 1999 he worked at Xytec Corp, doing something with FPGAs. 1999 is also when he later claimed to have killed a CIA agent, but this event was more likely than not just a product of his schizo brain. After the year 2000 he started work on what would eventually become TempleOS -- initially it was called J Operating System (until 2005), then LoseThos (until 2012), and then SparrowOS, the 1.0 release made on October 2 2012. The name TempleOS came to be used for the system in March of 2013. Terry promoted the system on reddit, hacker news, osdev (got banned lol) and other forums, and unsurprisingly caught the attention of kiwifarms where a thread on him dates back to 2013. The year 2016 saw the beginning of his now famous live streams on YouTube. These were his most entertaining days, Terry didn't give much shit about political correctness, he often talked about CIA niggers as he was showcasing his magnum opus operating system on stream or when he recounted anecdotes and commented on various Internet articles. Funnily he became obsessed with Dianna the "Physics Girl", a famous female YouTuber, whom he'd e-stalk and email even several times a day and he kind of started to believe they were actually married, this was very ridiculous. One day he got into trouble by calling someone nigger in real life, he got banned on YouTube and all started to go south. Some time in 2016 Terry became famous on 4chan's /g (technology) board and the bastards started to milk him, which might have contributed to the decline of his mental health. He stopped taking his meds and in 2017 got arrested for attacking his father, he briefly went to jail, ended up homeless and had to stream videos from his van. He now had a few dedicated fans supporting him financially here and there, they bought him food and even a new drum set. As was later confirmed on September 7, it happen after 9 PM on August 11 2018 in Dalles, Oregon, between the First and Terminal streets, that Terry Davis was killed by a train as he was walking along the tracks, with suicide having been judged as a likely possibility by the train operator's account. Or at least so they want you to believe...

RIP in peace, dear Terry Davis. You have inspired us.
